About My Practice

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), which means I can diagnose and treat psychiatric problems using talk therapy. I have worked in a variety of settings, from inpatient psychiatric units to home based services, in emergency rooms and office-based counseling.

I practice cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies, which are generally short-term and focused on problems you are struggling with today. Research has shown these therapies to be very effective in treating anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and the stresses that can come with dealing with chronic medical conditions.

A large part of successful therapy is a good fit between therapist and client. I offer an initial brief (15 - 20 minute) meeting at no charge so you can find out if you feel comfortable with me, and I can get a sense if I am the right person to help with your problems.

I see individuals for therapy, and incorporate family support in session when appropriate. Sessions are 45-55 minutes and are scheduled at a time convenient for all involved.
